Pinnacle Awards Celebrate the Height of Success

Houston, TX — On Saturday, October 22, 2016, the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce (GHBC) will hold its 22nd annual Pinnacle Awards.  The event will be held at The Power Center, located at 12401 South Post Oak Road, Houston, Texas.

The GHBC Pinnacle Award is the most prestigious award that the GHBC bestows in honor of black-owned businesses.  The awards go to African-American entrepreneurs who not only have succeeded in business, but have positively impacted the communities and industries they serve.

The 10 finalists for the 2016 Pinnacle Awards are: Fort Bend Academy of Arts and Dance;  Hiram Style, LLC; Kelly Kaluza and Associates; L’Renee & Associates; Owens Management Systems, LLC; Soul Grooves Fitness; Sterling Staffing Solutions; The Education Valet, Inc.;  The Sutton Insurance Agency, Inc.; and Twice Media Productions.

“It is an honor to acknowledge and celebrate black businesses who are vital to increasing economic development in the Houston region and specifically in African-American communities,” said Pinnacle Awards Co-Chair  Che’ McFerrin. “We invite past Pinnacle Award winners, business enthusiasts, and students to join us for an evening of achievement and leadership.”

Along with the coveted Pinnacle Awards, the GHBC will bestow the 2016 Upstart Award to one of three finalists, as well as name an Advocate of the Year and honor three members of the clergy.

The program also will honor Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, who will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Senator-Elect Borris L. Miles with the Mickey Leland Entrepreneurial Public Leadership Award.
