2016 Pinnacle Awards

For the past 21 years, the Chamber has hosted the Pinnacle Awards honoring excellence, tenacity and dedication of entrepreneurialism in the African-American business community. The Greater Houston Black Chamber established the Pinnacle Awards in 1994. The award ceremony was created to recognize outstanding African American businesses in the greater Houston area. The Pinnacle Awards are the most prestigious awards in honor of Black-owned businesses.

The Pinnacle Awards are bestowed upon African American entrepreneurs that have met the many challenges facing businesses today, and found a way to positively impact the communities and industries they serve. Recipients are professional, capable, and committed to maintaining a high quality business operation worthy of the Pinnacle Award.

Founded in 1935 as the city’s first African -American civic organization, the GHBC has evolved into an active participant in the City of Houston’s socioeconomic process. The organization is a 501(c)(6), not-for-profit, private, member-driven organization that serves the Greater Houston Area. The GHBC helps its partners and members navigate Houston’s large, diverse population, industries and the many nuances, which are unique to Houston.
