Ashley Small is a communications strategist, entrepreneur, and marketing leader with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations elevate their brands, strengthen community engagement, and drive measurable business growth through integrated public relations and digital marketing. She is the Founder of Medley Inc., a Houston-based boutique PR and communications agency she launched in 2009 to bridge traditional public relations with emerging digital and social media strategies.
Under Ashley’s leadership, Medley has partnered with organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to public sector and nonprofit institutions, including Kroger, Major League Baseball, AT&T, Comcast, the City of Houston, and The Rose Houston. She leads strategic communications planning, media relations, brand storytelling, and analytics-driven campaigns that align marketing efforts directly with business outcomes. Known for her operational discipline and client-first mindset, Ashley manages multi-functional teams, oversees day-to-day operations, and has consistently retained more than 90% of her client roster year over year.
Earlier in her career, Ashley held communications and digital engagement roles supporting political campaigns, media organizations, and large-scale events, where she built deep expertise in audience development, content strategy, and community trust-building.
A dedicated civic leader, Ashley has served on numerous boards and advisory councils and has been recognized for her business and community impact, including Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Role Model honor. She holds a Bachelor of Communication from Texas Southern University.
As a board member of the Greater Houston Black Chamber, Ashley brings marketing acumen, entrepreneurial insight, and a passion for amplifying the voices and visibility of Black-owned businesses across the region.
