Michael Brown is an operations and sustainability leader with deep expertise in asset recovery, supply chain optimization, and supplier diversity strategy. With more than a decade of experience across utilities, government, and infrastructure sectors, he specializes in building responsible, efficient systems that drive measurable value while advancing economic inclusion and environmental stewardship.

Michael currently serves as Manager of Asset Recovery & Supply Chain Sustainability at CenterPoint Energy, where he leads initiatives focused on circular economy practices, maximizing asset value, and strengthening sustainable, compliant supply chains. His work centers on improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and creating scalable processes that support both financial performance and long-term sustainability goals.

Previously, Michael led supplier diversity and compliance programs across public and private organizations, including Port Houston, the City of Houston, and Horizon International Group. As a Tier 2 Program Manager and diversity outreach leader, he developed strategies that expanded opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses, strengthened vendor partnerships, and ensured accountability through data-driven reporting and policy alignment.

Known for his analytical rigor and collaborative leadership style, Michael brings strengths in business analysis, financial and revenue forecasting, technical writing, and regulatory compliance. He holds multiple professional certifications, including Master Compliance Administrator and Supplier Diversity Masterclass Series Black Belt.

As a board member of the Greater Houston Black Chamber, Michael is passionate about advancing equitable access to procurement opportunities, supporting responsible business growth, and helping create pathways for minority-owned enterprises to scale and succeed within Houston’s evolving economy.
