The Greater Houston Black Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission and purpose of the Foundation is to raise private support, manage funds, and make strategic investments in Greater Houston Black Chamber (GHBC) programming.
WHAT WE DO
Over the past 38 years, the Foundation has annually given a total of $50,000 dollars toward advancing, educating, equipping, and empowering other minority business entrepreneurs, professionals, and students. Here at the Foundation, we feel that this work of charity is both relevant and necessary to meet the growing needs of our community. We are focused on assisting mature and young minority entrepreneurs to create and facilitate growth for their businesses.
EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Annually and in conjunction with the GHBC, the Foundation’s Educational Achievement Awards scholarships have been awarded for almost 40 years to students in the Houston Metropolitan area. The Educational Achievement Award is granted to graduating high school seniors. Applicants that are a part of the Greater Houston Community will be awarded based on competitive essays, academic performances, and personal interviews. We are proud of the partnerships that we have been able to create through the GHBC’s working relationships with Houston ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Spring ISD, Klein ISD, Rice University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston, the local Houston Black MBA Chapter, and various other educational based entities.
Application Deadline is May 20, 2025
