Letter from the President

To the Greater Houston Black Chamber family,

In business, the statement “our company is in the black,” has always been looked upon as an affirmation denoting positive yield and progress; a signature benchmark that signals your enterprise is moving in the right direction and ascending towards the point you call “success.” Interestingly enough, this definition underscores the value and necessity of partnering with the Chamber.

For over 80 years the Chamber has been at the forefront of information gathering, networking, training, business development, and advocacy for the African American business community and is committed to making the black business community in the greater Houston area a premium exchange in the ever-changing global market. The value proposition for joining and being an active part of GHBC has never been more profound than it is now. With over 3000 businesses linked to the Chamber; vertical business relations with industry pillars such as healthcare, energy, oil and gas, technology, manufacturing, and hospitality; the facilitation of various resources designed to provide businesses with the collateral and resources essential to optimizing opportunities for success, as well as a reenergized “personal touch” to engage business in a way that identifies intelligent partnership, the Chamber has an offering that more reflects a “business necessity” rather than an “option.”
The progressive trajectory for black business in the greater Houston area is clear and the Chamber stands poised to work with you to realize your potential in that course. We look forward to working with you and your business in a proactive and transformative way to assist you in reaching your goals for your business profile in the ever-expanding Houston and global community.
