For the past 23 years, the Chamber has hosted the Pinnacle Awards honoring excellence, tenacity and dedication of entrepreneurial spirit in the African-American business community. The Greater Houston Black Chamber established the Pinnacle Awards in 1994.  The award ceremony was created to recognize outstanding African American businesses in the greater Houston area. The Pinnacle Awards are the most prestigious awards in honor of Black-owned businesses.

The Pinnacle Awards are bestowed upon African American entrepreneurs that have met the many challenges facing businesses today, and found a way to positively impact the communities and industries they serve. Recipients are professional, capable, and committed to maintaining a high quality business operation worthy of the Pinnacle Award.
