GHBC Board Member Appointed to UH Board of Visitors African-American Caucus
GHBC board member and president and CEO, Branwar Wine Distributing Wayne Luckett has been appointed to UH Board of Visitors African-American Caucus by UH Chancellor and President Renu Khator.
In April Dr. Kathor, UH System Board of Regents Chair Jarvis Hollingsworth, Secretary W. Wilson, and Vice President for Community Relations and Institutional Access Dr. Elwyn Lee hosted two forums attended by approximately 30 key African-American opinion leaders from the greater Houston community and the Third Ward on UH’s main campus.
The forums focused on UH’s commitment to African-American students, faculty, and the surrounding community to be very informative.
One of the action items as a result of the forums is the creation of the UH Board of Visitors African American Caucus consisting of civic leaders (both alumni and non-alumni) to offer advice to the president about UH’s direction and its impact on the African-American community.
Other African American members on the Board of Visitors are:
Cheryl Creuzot, GHBC members and President and CEO, Wealth Development Strategies
William Granville, III, CEO and Managing Member, Granville Financial Group
Elvin Hayes, President, Legend Associates
Reverend William Lawson, Pastor Emeritus, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church
Carl Lewis, President and CEO, Lewis Entertainment Group
Daryl Wilkerson, Vice President fo Support Services, University of Chicago Medicine
