WHAT WE DO

Here at the Greater Houston Black Chamber Foundation, we care, and it shows. Over the past 38 years, the Foundation has given a total of $50,000 dollars toward advancing, educating, equipping, and empowering other minority business entrepreneurs, professionals and students. Here at the Foundation, we feel that this work of charity is both relevant and necessary to meet the growing needs of our community. We are focused on assisting both mature and young minority entrepreneurs to both create and facilitate growth for their businesses.

We have done much, yet there is much work yet to be completed. Our goal is to ensure the continual success of the Foundation so that GHBC efforts to ensure the long-term success of its member companies and corporate partners.

EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

We are proud of the partnerships that we have been able to create through the GHBC’s working relationships with Houston ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Spring ISD, Klein ISD, Rice University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston, the local Houston Black MBA Chapter, and various other educational based entities.

Annually and in conjunction with the GHBC, the Foundation’s Educational Achievement Awards scholarships have been awarded for almost 40 years to students in the Houston Metropolitan area.

The Educational Achievement Award is granted to graduating high school seniors. Applicants that are a part of the Greater Houston Community will be awarded based on competitive essays, academic performances, and personal interviews.
